The "Tiffany Muzo Emerald" is a rare, over 10-carat, rectangular square-cut emerald acquired by Tiffany & Co. in 2023, sourced from Colombia’s renowned Muzo mines. Mined in 2019 from the Puerto Arturo shaft, this exceptional gem is prized for its high clarity, intense green color, and lack of fissures.

On July 7, 2023, Tiffany & Co. made a historic statement by unveiling the acquisition of a rare and exceptional Muzo emerald, originally sourced in 2019 an unprecedented event in the House’s 186-year history. The iconic Maison named this extraordinary gemstone after its origin: The Tiffany Muzo Emerald.

Extracted from the historic Puerto Arturo shaft in December 2019, the stone spent three years being cut, examined, and graded — before being placed in the hands of the world's authority on rare gems.

Tiffany unveils the legacy of the 10.50-carat

As part of Tiffany’s Blue Book 2026: Hidden Garden launch event, the House reveals the journey of an exceptional stone in a unique Gem Atelier private experience. From its origins to the Atocha collection and its rough formation, to its ultimate expression in high jewelry. In a single moment, one captures the captivating history and essence of Muzo’s origin.
